Xiaomi Teams Up with Uber to Deliver Smartphones in Singapore and Malaysia

Xiaomi launched their newest flagship, the Mi Note, in China earlier this year. Today, the company is launching the phone in Singapore and Malaysia with a unique marketing strategy. Read on to find out.
Xiaomi has tied up with Uber, the world’s biggest cab aggregator, in both Singapore as well as Malaysia to sell their Mi Note flagship through Uber’s service application.
The Uber app will have a Xiaomi tab automatically on July 27th, a day before it officially goes on their official site, Mi.com. This will unable eager buyers to get their hands on the new Mi Note, one day before launch.

They will find a ‘Xiaomi’ option on their Uber app, and selecting it will have a cab deliver the Mi Note to their doorsteps. The charge for the Xiaomi phablet will be levied to the credit card registered with Uber.
Hugo Barra, global VP for Xiaomi, posted this on his Facebook page.
“Xiaomi x UBER: Today we’re announcing a unique partnership with Uber for on-demand delivery of the new Mi Note we just launched in Singapore and Malaysia. This is an awesome and first-of-its-kind collaboration between two of the most innovative tech startups in the world.
Ordering a Mi Note follows the exact same process as calling for an Uber — you simply open the Uber app, use the slider at the bottom to select “Xiaomi” (which shows Xiaomi-orange colored Uber cars on the map equipped to deliver the new smartphone), and hit request. Payment will be charged directly to the credit card tied to your Uber account and a Mi Note will be delivered to you within a few minutes. Pretty cool, right?”

The new flagship phablet features a big 5.7-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, and is powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM.

It also features 16GB/64GB internal storage, 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, 4-megapixel selfie snapper, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
